In addition to my journalism, I have worked on projects for private and commercial clients in various capacities, primarily as a writer - essays, interviews, features, reports, competition submissions and other content - but also as an editor and a consultant on on media strategy and PR.
To me, the readership is different but the exercise is similar: delivering clear, compelling content tailored to the client's needs. My experience in dealing with creative, high-profile individuals and organisations has equipped me to translate complex ideas and concepts into clear, compelling content.
Philosopher Alain de Botton's initiative to commission high-profile architects to design contemporary holiday homes in the UK. Designers have included John Pawson, Peter Zumthor, Grayson Perry and FAT, MVRDV, NORD and Michael and Patty Hopkins.
I am writing in-depth essays on the ideas behind each design and the challenges of realising it, talking to the designers, Living Architecture, and other key participants. The essays will be collected into a book in the near future.
